Suzuki AP50 - International Restoration Project

This motorcycle has been owned by Mr Steven Foskett for many years. It languised in a barn for many years whilst its owner emigrated to Australia. As time passed these small bikes have gained in value in a similar way to the FS1E. We were contacted by a friend of Steve's who asked if we would be able to restore it to its as new condition; and when complete, ship it to Australia.
When we took delivery of the bike it became apparent that we had a formidable task on our hands. The tank was missing, the frame was rusted through and the general condition left a lot to be desired. On the positive side it was essentially "all there" and with some fettling the engine ran.
This was a good starting point. We stripped the bike to the last nut and bolt, sand blasted everything steel, bead blasted everything aluminium, welded up all the corrosion and set about the re-build.
We send Steve regular photographic updates so that he can see progress and approve the work. We are nearing the end of the project now and the AP50 is soon to be reunited with its owner in Australia.
